PTA Committee: Family Day

The chair organizes and hosts the annual Fall Family Day. Family Day is always held the day after the homecoming game and carries an open invitation to all Westchester alumni and current families. The PTA serves free food and refreshments to everyone. Student clubs are encouraged to set up booth or exhibits to showcase their clubs and talents. There are also games for the families to play.

Duties: Recruit people to be in charge of the different areas.  Talk to the clubs about participation. Promote the event. View the past event outline for an example of the preparation & scheduling - 2006 Family Day detailed outline.

Notes: The turnout for this event could be greater if we marketed it more. The more we can get student clubs to participate, the higher our turnout. We may want to consider holding Spirit Days in the week leading up to the event where students can buy shirts or enter a raffle for a free shirt to be given away during the event. We would also benefit from reaching out to the Westchester Alumni Association.
